For the entire month of February, I will be participating in NaBloPoMo – National Blog Posting Month – where I write a post a day, based on the prompts from @BlogHerBlogging.
I have 2 sisters, Jennifer (28) and Nina (2 1/2). I’m sure you’re thinking that there’s a typo in there – no, there’s not. Here’s the story…
My dad & mom had my sister and I and separated when we were 6 & 8 (respectively). Later on they got divorced when we were in high school and my dad had married my step-mom (although they had been dating for years and years). After awhile, they adopted alittlen itty baby Nina (or, neeners as we call her).
Jennifer and I grew up never really getting along. My mom would always say “you’re sisters- get along!” but we never really got the memo. And in all honesty – she doesn’t get along all the time with her sisters! There’s always bickering. It’s how you show you love one another. LOL. (for anyone who’s seen that Modern Family episode – you know what I mean). It wasn’t until later on as adults we’ve realized we can get along, and hey, we actually enjoy hanging out every now and then!
With Nina – she’s been so awesome to see grow up. She’s super happy, and a really strong girl. She isn’t afraid of anything! I can’t wait for her to grow up with Aubrey (and our future kids) as she doesn’t have anyone her age in our family (well, before Nina. but all the little cousins are all in college anyways). So I often refer to them like being sisters. I wonder if they’ll bicker as much? They’re almost the same age difference as Jennifer & me.
