For the entire month of February, I will be participating in NaBloPoMo – National Blog Posting Month – where I write a post a day, based on the prompts from @BlogHerBlogging.
My Dad has really come into his own over the years in the kitchen. Whenever we go for dinner, the meal is usually a recipe from his favorite chef – Curtis Stone. My step-mom handles the desserts on those nights.
But he also uses some old family recipes – from his mom – including the amazing chicken cacciatore. There are never any leftovers with that dish!
It’s interesting how both my folks love to cook and entertain. I’m ok with cooking, and my sister is just beginning. She and her boyfriend have been learning together and for her birthday I got her a fancy apron to protect her clothes.
Oh and one of my favorite dishes my dad makes? His surf and turf – filet mignon (practically rare) and lobster tail. Jon and I switch so I get 2 tails and he gets 2 filets. Win-win!!
