The Engagement Party {#targetwedding}

This is a sponsored post but all opinions & anecdotes are mine.

When couples are engaged, there can be a lengthy list of functions they will attend.  As soon as the question is popped {and answered!} the couples can attend an engagement party in their honor.  This party can be fancy, casual, but most often it’s one of the first times families and friends are meeting one another.  Another great thing that can happen is the request of their friends to be in their bridal party!  Jon and I didn’t have a formal engagement party, but we did have a small gathering at my dad & step-moms to show off the bling, the proposal story, and enjoy some bubbly.  I also asked my sister & cousin to be bridesmaids!

If I was hosting an engagement party for a special couple, I’d want to make sure the ambiance was welcoming, and upscale-casual.  Let me show you what I mean.

While the vibe is casual with upscale with fine wine and artisan cheeses, there’s still a sense of casual with the types of place settings & glassware.  Don’t even get me started on that table. LOVE!  At engagement parties, there’s so much mingling going on, a spread like this will allow many to work the room, meet new people, and not feel anchored to their chair.  Featured here is the Threshold Wellsbridge Dinner set in Aqua, the adorable sprig of fresh herbs planted in the Threshold Stoneware Canister with lid (available in multiple colors), and Vineyard Reserve Stemless glasses (set of 8).  {Links open to Target’s wedding catalog. Find the image above, and click “find products” and it will pull up the direct links to purchase from Target}

And, since I’m a sucker for desserts, there has to be a dessert spread featuring mini-everything.  I love mini cupcakes, cake pops, mini pies, possibilities are endless!

Featured on this tablescape are Tiered Pedestal Serving Plates, Cakestand with Cover (can double as a punch bowl!), and Riedel Vivant Champagne Flutes (set of 4).

    The tiered cupcake stand is stunning. Love it! I love that Target is coming out with all these great, new products. We didn’t have an engagement party… just a bridal shower and a rehearsal dinner. My bridal shower was more my SIL’s taste, not mine, but she threw it for me so I guess I should be appreciative (although we don’t talk at all anymore).

    I love the cupcake stand. I do a lot of bday parties with cupcakes and that would definitely be put to good use 🙂

    You know what – I actually LOVE those plates pictured on the table above. I need new plates so much and that color is lovely.

    Well, first of all. I love TARGET, they were the only place that I registered when we got engaged. Because, honestly, that was where all of our friends and family were going to shop anyway! So, my entire first apartment was completely decorated by Target. So, thanks! I am the party thrower in my family, and I LOVE the tiered pedestal serving plates. Very cool!
