First, sorry to all the folks who follow me on Instagram that aren’t expecting, with all my pics this past weekend from the launch of Pregnancy Awareness Month. I’ msure you thoroughly enjoyed the photos of baby bottles, strollers, and breast pads. But hey, at least I mixed in some pics of Dr. McSteamy and food! But I had a lot of fun and I shouldn’t really apologize, but more say thank you for not unfollowing me 🙂 I was invited by MomsLA to attend a special blogger luncheon hosted by them and Supper Society LA. As you entered the venue – the Bergamot Station in Santa Monica, a lovely balloon arch greeted you. I posted on Instagram that this reminded me of high school, ASB to be exact, as we put together many columns & arches for different events. I never really mastered how to get them to stay, but I was really great at blowing up & tying off the balloons!
Supper Society LA is based in Silverlake, CA and offers 4 different types of services – Power Cleanse, Meal Delivery, Glow Kit, and Recipe Box. Feel free to check out their site if this might be of interest to you. I can tell you the salads we enjoyed and the juice drink was really good. The juice was REALLY REALLY good. And I’m not a juicer.
The drink was more like a milkshake with the addition of banana and vanilla bean!
Some tasty treats were brought in from Gotta Have S’more – the owner, Carmen Lindner, braved the Shark Tank with her s’muffins and struck a deal. I remember watching this episode with Jon and told him that I needed to try these. I love s’mores and I was not disappointed with these treats. What I was disappointed in was with only eating one. LOL
A bit into our meal (and mingling with other bloggers – all of whom I must add were very nice!) we heard from the founders of Pregnancy Awareness – Anna Getty and Alisa Donner. They were joined by head sponsor – Daddy Scrubs – Robert Nickell – who was extremely nice and also made an appearance on the Celebrity Dad Panel that happened later that afternoon.
Next we heard from Seventh Generation – who is celebrating 25 years in operation. That’s quite a feat!
The creators of Supper Society LA spoke to us a bit about how their cleanse programs also include real food, and a pregnancy & postpartum delivery plan for meals as well. Yum.
Next we heard from Rachel Ostroy, creator of neat-os – a reusable bag that is also dishwasher safe!
After all the chat & food, it was almost time for the event to officially open to the public. Took this time to get some quick photos with some of the people I chat with online, and finally was able to meet in person!
Kristin Cruz, morning DJ for KOST 103.5. We’ve become quite chatty on Twitter. She’s a sweetheart. And not kissing up. She truly is.
Check back tomorrow for the products & celebrity panel from Pregnancy Awareness Month’s kick-off event in Santa Monica!
