Even though Luke is baby number two, for a lot of things, we’re going through a lot of firsts. One of the biggest changes/decisions with him is the use of disposable diapers. We used cloth with Aubrey, and thought a lot about whether or not we would go that same direction with Luke. In the end, we decided not to, as time seemed to be slipping away even more with juggling 2 kids, a full time job, a household, and blogging. I haven’t regretted the decision much, except whenever we have a poopy blowout. That, my friends, is NEVER fun. I remembered one of the first things I discovered about disposables was figuring out sizes. Who knew different brands fit differently? But this makes sense, now, when you compare how some times you get blowouts and some times you do not. When we received our care package from Pampers, I was excited to try out their size 2 swaddlers. Luke had the newborn ones in the hospital but I had stocked up on another brand to use when we got home. The Pampers are SO soft. And inside they have this great mesh absorbency layer to help keep your baby’s skin dry. I didn’t realize this change with the first diaper I changed (it was in the middle of the night – and dark) but the next day it was one of the first things I noticed. And in true mom form, I touched it to see if it really WAS dry feeling. Jon said I was gross. But how else would I know? And wouldn’t you know it, it WAS dry!
And not to jinx things, but so far, his poops have remained IN the diapers. Bonus points awarded to Pampers!
The Pampers Swaddlers are now available in sizes 4 and 5. So you can have your older babies still enjoy the softness & awesome absorbency mesh too! And to celebrate the new sizes, Pampers is having 30 days of giveaways and a grand prize of of Free Swaddlers & wipes for a year! Do you know how much you’d save??? Wow!!!! You can enter the sweepstakes by liking and following along on their Facebook page. Be sure to check back daily for giveaways!
And if you’re on Twitter, there is a party on December 5th at 9pm EST (6pm if you’re with me on the west coast). There are prizes to be won then as well. The grand prize is a Canon T3i – the same camera I have and love. It’s fantastic for recording all your baby’s Firsts – both in still photos and video!
Thank you Pampers & Double Duty Divas for giving my mama some new diapers to try out and keep my bum dry! I love them!
