Nail Garden – A Relaxing Escape

I received nail services at no cost in exchange for this post. I only share my honest opinion with you!

I’m sure my town is very much like yours – nail salons sprinkled around, and not sure which ones to venture to.  I’ve tried a few around Valencia and some I like, some are just ok, and some I avoid.  On a recent trip to our mall, Westfield Valencia Town Center, I saw a sign for a new salon and my friend, MJ, shared that there was one near her and they have happy hour. WHAAAAA? Happy Hour? This seemed like a completely different experience and I was ready to try it out.

I contacted the shop and was very excited they invited me to visit their salon and try out some of their nail equipment and services.  My friend, Nicole, came as well.  We’re both new moms to our 2nd babies, and both in desperate need for some us time.  The Nail Garden is located outside the mall on the Patios between the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and Lucille’s BBQ.

The decor inside is sophisticated and modern.  I loved the chandeliers that hung inside.

Upon entering, we were offered fresh coffee, but I went and grabbed a french vanilla coffee that reminded me of college.

On their website, it lists that the polishes they use are formaldehyde free, and Valencia hosts Essie & OPI.  I love the color options of both and as always, had a hard time choosing which for my pedicure.

For my manicure, I tried out their Shellac Gel Manicure.  I’ve had a gel manicure before, but it didn’t last very long, and was very thick when it was applied.  I see so many of my girls on Twitter & Instagram talk about how great they are, and how long they last, and was hoping this time around I’d have a different experience.  Nail Garden had a huge basket of options for colors.  It was hard choosing.  Really hard.

Now for the details.  I enjoyed the entire mani/pedi.  I was there for over an hour and wasn’t rushed through any part.  I enjoyed the Indulgent Bliss Spa Combo (retails $69 in Valencia) with the added gel nails ($22).

I had the opportunity to speak with the owner, Reham, who is a new mom, and budding business owner.  We chatted for awhile and I love hearing the stories of how businesses came to be.  Reham had been surrounded in the salon environment growing up, and after graduating from USC, came up with a business plan to create a nail salon environment that was trendy, classy, and lacking in the Los Angeles area.  The first one opened in 2007 in Studio City.  8 years later, they are celebrating their 5th store opening with Valencia, and have 2 more on the horizon as well as 2 franchise locations opening in the South Bay.

Reham’s passion for this industry was evident over the phone, and she ensures all guests experience a bit of relaxation, but with high quality services & brands.  All of the technicians are tested prior to hire, and are also trained to conform to the Nail Garden way.  In total, they have over 150 employees in the current locations.  She likes to keep it simple, and the same packages you can choose from today, were created back with the opening of the first shop.

They attend many trade shows to see what is currently trending in the nail care product lines.  Nails, to her, are fashion accessories and I explained how difficult of a decision I had in choosing my colors since I did want them to seem “fall” but also fun.

And 3 weeks after visiting Nail Garden, I’m happy to report my gel nails still look great. There’s a couple of knicks from working on a computer, wrangling children, and cooking dinners.  But I am so pleased with the quality and have been telling lots of girlfriends to try them out.  And since you are also like one of my girlfriends, I want to tell you to go and try.  And mention Melissa Dell at any of the current 5 locations and receive 15% off your services from now until the end of the year.  That’s incredible!  Below you can find the locations and contact information.

Thank you, Nail Garden, for hosting me and providing such great service to my friend and I!

Fab review! I have my regular salon I go to but last year, I received a g/c for Nail Garden. I’ve just hoarded it. Glad to hear there is one near me! (And that I don’t have to drive to Brentwood.)

I’d seen you talk about your nails and today because of you gave shellac a try for the very first time. I’ve always been to the same nail salon due to bad experiences elsewhere but after reading about your experience at nail garden I’m excited they will soon open in South Bay Area.
