Tis the season to deck the halls and get in the Holiday spirit.  Every day as we drive home from preschool, Aubrey & Luke are in awe of all the homes lit up with Christmas lights and the Christmas tree farm behind our house with the huge inflatable snowmen and nutcrackers.  Since the sun goes down so early (Thanks daylight savings!) they’re able to see every decorated home in our neighborhood.  They’re also at the age to ask me about snow – when they’ll see it.  All the holiday movies and themed tv shows started up last week and they all feature frigid temps, warm coats, and snow falling from the sky.

Um, we live in Southern California.  Weather, for us, is a cloudy sky and maybe the occasional rain storm.  Our warm coats are just a thick sweatshirt and I don’t think anyone in our family owns gloves.  A white Christmas is not something the kids will wake up to anytime soon.

Thankfully, living in Southern California brings a lot of opportunities for all of us to get our kids out of the house and drive a short distance to some amazing events to get in the holiday spirit.

Winterfest OC is coming to town in Orange County at the OC Fair & Event center kicking off on December 16th.  And with having a large family, the ticket pricing is family friendly!  You can purchase a bundle of tickets that includes 4 tickets and Snowflake Summit Fast Pass for $60.

So what is there to do that the Winterfest OC?

You can take photos with Santa, make crafts in Santa’s Workshop, listen to story time with Mrs. Claus, visit Santa’s Petting zoo (omg I wonder if Rudolph will be there!!), and there’s even a special play area for the Little Elves (ages 3 and under).

But maybe the best part of Winterfest OC is the FREE Snow Play area!  Each day real snow will be blown in so your little one can experience a bit of the cold white blanket of awesomeness and maybe even throw some snowballs at one another!
