Introducing.. {name reveal}

Introducing_name

We finally picked a name!!! Both names are family names, and let me tell you the story :)

When I was in elementary school, we had gone to the cemetery to visit the grave of my uncle.  I don’t remember exactly how, but we ended up at the children’s section, and I learned that my grandma also had a son, Luke, that passed away as a toddler. Back in the 50s, I am guessing too much pain and grief came across and he was never given the vase to place flowers. I’m not even sure there’s a headstone.  But I knew that graves needed flowers, and I saved up some money and bought him one.  My mom still has the receipt with my printed name (since I hadn’t learned cursive yet).  I always had a fondness for that name, and when Jon and I were talking about names years ago, before Aubrey, I told him if I had a boy I wanted to name him Luke.  Well, here we are :)

So for Wayne.  Wayne is Jon’s father.  He is an amazing man and I have much respect for him.  When Jon told me he wanted to give Luke that middle name, I was a bit surprised. I thought he wanted to pick the name of one of his grandfathers to use.  But he said he loved his dad, had much respect for him, and wanted to name him that.  I said OK!

So, here we are, with a name for our little one.  Luke Wayne Dell – coming to our home in July!

    Love the name! Let’s hope he thanks his parents when he gets his Academy of Country Music award, because it has a definite country-western ring to it!
    And when he drives a pickup truck, loves his dog and treats every lady like Mama taught him well, you can thank me.

    “Luke” Skywalker and John “Wayne” come to my mind so he’s not going to be so much country western as he will be a country-astronaut and when he receives his very own spaceship you can thank me! The family history of your new son’s name is fantastic! Congratulations you two. Luke Wayne Dell couldn’t have chosen a better set of parents to spend his life with.

    I love it! It’s such a strong name. And the fact that both the first and middle names have such deep meaning behind them is extra special. Love!
