Ok first, that is a GREAT name for a shop! Sugar & Polish. Someone grab that now! This past weekend I was able to take a step from my role as Mommy and step into my role as Pamper-ee. I made that up if it wasn’t obvious. I met up with 4 awesome ladies – Carolyn (also my SoCal Lady Blogger partner in crime), Monica, Mary & Jen at Nail Garden in Valencia. You know how much I dig them, and the owner, Reham already. It was our pleasure to come enjoy a night of manis while helping to get the word out about their 3rd annual toy drive event! From now until December 18th, bring a new, unwrapped gift for a child aged 3months-18 years, and Nail Garden (at any of their 5 locations) will accept it AND give you 15% off your services! Tis the season to think of others and this is a great cause.
Mary brought a toy – a boogie board – to help make a merry holiday to one of the recipients.
I love it when retailers go the extra mile to help out their community. It’s such a small thing we can do!
Since I loved my gel manicure so much last time, I added that on to their classic mani and, again, had an extremely difficult decision in choosing a color. I really wanted some sparkle. I was told by the receptionist that some of the OPI colors by Mariah are available in gel too!
Some of my choices (I didn’t select these. I was considering the purple)

The manager, Cynthia, was there to tell us more about the toy drive, and also about how Nail Garden started 8 years ago. I recapped that for you in my last post if you want to learn more!
Now, remember how I talked about sugar in the title of this post? I didn’t mean to leave you hanging. At the Westfield Valencia Town Center, there is an outdoor section of shop called The Patios. There are clothing stores, housewares, restaurants, sweet treats, and a few other services. One of Nail Garden’s neighbors is Velvet Cupcakes. I had one of their Pumpkin Cupcakes (seasonal) last year and was excited when they agreed to sponsor the treats for us to sample this night! I picked up the cupcakes and their shop is so cute! I had to take a ton of photos.

Their mini sized treats (they also have the large ones) I tried the bottom right (strawberry) and I hear the top left is AMAZING. Fleur de sel caramel. And my birthday is next week. if you want to grab me some minis (shameless plug)
love the use of milk glasses filled with the sprinkles used on the cupcakes!
Love the gallery wall! This was actually the color scheme of my very first office at home! (well, and tiffany blue)
The cupcakes they provided were their Sunday menu options.
I had that one on the top left – chocolate hazelnut. It was amazing. I normally don’t go to chocolate since it can be too sweet, but this was a perfect match against the light hazelnut frosting. I had it with coffee and ooh la la. delicious! I brought Jon the Cookies & Cream cupcake and was bummed he ate it before I even had a chance to sneak a bite! But he loved it too. And we’re picky about our cupcakes!
If you want to grab your girlfriends, and your toy donations, there are plenty of chairs for you to relax in and enjoy your services!
Thank you Nail Garden & Velvet Cupcakes for offering this Mama a night to pamper and indulge!
