Not sure about you, but mornings in the Dell household are crazy. The kids are getting up earlier and earlier and I miss the time when I could get ready without little ones trying to play with my makeup brushes, my blow dryer, my shoes, blah blah blah. Whenever the kids get up early, I try to have them play in their own rooms, but they always, at some point, end up at my feet with the iPad. Getting 10 more minutes of me time is worth it.
Once I’m ready, I have Aubrey to get ready plus other mom duties before heading to preschool drop off and then work. When it’s almost time to head out the door, I realize I have been so preoccupied with being Mom that I forgot to fix something for me to eat. I frantically look around to figure out what’s the easiest breakfast dish to take with me or eat while I finish packing Aubrey’s lunch, and end up empty handed. There’s not always time to sit and eat a bowl of oatmeal or cereal. On my last trip to Walmart, I stopped by the freezer section to find something that can be eaten with one hand, and made quickly if I choose. I grabbed a box of the Foster Farms® Pancake Wraps to try out. (And, you can use the Ibotta app to save $1 on a package!)
Do your mornings sound like this? Asking your toddler repeatedly to get dressed, and then trying to help brush their teeth so toothpaste doesn’t end up on the floor, mirror, or their clothes? Let’s not even get started on doing hair That task has a 50/50 chance of going without flinches or cries of Ouch that hurts!
So chaotic! But once she’s dressed, it’s time for breakfast for them. And the start of more of my mom duties. So this past morning, I grabbed the box of Pancake Wraps, and put 2 to cook in the toaster oven. They need a bit more time in there to cook, but I prefer crispier corn dogs and figured I’d enjoy these Pancake Wraps more crispy too! While those were cooking, the kids were eating and I was making lunch for Aubrey!
As I finished cleaning up, my toaster oven dinged and it was just about time for us to go. When at Walmart, I also grabbed some containers to take the Pancake Wraps with me (or, to pack some for Jon!) to enjoy at work. I even found this super cute container to store the syrup in!
I wasn’t sure if I’d need the extra sweetness. Turns out, I didn’t. But it was a nice treat to have on a few bites.
It was 7:50 and time to grab shoes, lunch, computer case, purse, water, coffee, and my breakfast. Normally something like pancakes and sausage is saved for the weekend when we have more time. But not anymore! Now to keep Aubrey and Luke from wanting to eat them!
What do your mornings look like? Would a breakfast on a stick make it easier on you?
