Raise your hand if life with one kid is crazy! Raise both hands if life with 2 kids is crazy! Pass out from exhaustion if life with THREE kids is insane! My mind seems to always be working, thinking 10 steps ahead. When I’m up in the morning, I’m calculating when the feeding for the baby will be, before I head to work. Then I think about when I’ll eat my breakfast, and what time to have the big kids get ready. Should they eat before they get dressed? After? If it’s chocolate ball cereal (seriously, that’s what we call it), it’s always before they get dressed. That stuff makes a mess!
Then I wonder if this is the morning Aubrey won’t want me to do her hair – or will she want something fancy. (this morning, fancy. Elsa hair).
The mornings are also spent as referee and circus tamer. Some mornings they’re all up in each others’ business and there’s crying and shouting and tears. Other mornings they’re loving and sharing a book and those are the ones I want to bottle up forever.
I try to keep an eye on the clock to make sure we’re out of the house before 8am. But honestly that rarely happens. All of a sudden it goes from 7:05 to 7:50 in a blink of an eye. One kid says they’re still hungry after their cereal and I grab a breakfast bar for them while I pack up lunches. I also grab all my stuff for my breastpump to use at the office. It becomes almost a dance as I perform the same routine, each morning.
I have yet to make that dinner in the open cookbook. But each morning, it stares at me while I pack up everything.
She was still hungry. Wanted a breakfast bar.
Look Mommy – I’m a shark! (shark fin on her head made out of the breakfast bar)
As each task is done, I start piling things up at the door. My boss jokes I’m a bag lady when I arrive at the office. If only he saw all the bags that head out of our home in the mornings. Today was water day so that meant each kid needed an entire outfit and towel to use after the fun. (and, in this case, a box. Sent out the Bling Mixer!)
As I pile the last bit of things at the door, I tell the kids to grab their sleep friend, say their goodbyes, and get to the door. Sometimes it takes one trip to the car, today, more.
We’re piled in and heading to school and I realize in the parking lot their faces are a disaster. In my haste I forgot to have them wash the reminder of what they enjoyed for breakfast. But, no fear, I’m prepared.
I first found out about WaterWipes from a fellow mama blogger (Thanks Lindsay!). It was right after Ryan was born and I was saying how #ThirdKidProblems had him not getting a bath nearly as often as Aubrey & Luke had. She said she started using WaterWipes to clean her little one while out and about – and said I could use them on Ryan too! So, of course I bought them on the next trip to Target. They’re literally water wipes – 99.9% water and .1% grapefruit seed extract There’s no chemicals and it’s been great especially on the faces of little ones.
And I don’t even care if he chooses to help clean up his carseat
Since we all know moms live at Target – you can always find them right up there along with the other wipes. Stock up and keep a set in your car as a durable and effective way to keep hands and faces clean. (oh man. potty training, can’t wait to have all three in that stage!)
And thanks to Influence Central – they’re giving away a total of 5 $100 gift cards to Target! Oh man, what would you use it on?
(I-C will randomly select winners from all program entries and will facilitate fulfillment of the winning prizes (5 winners).)
Even a third time mom can learn something new to use on the little ones!
