I received the following product in exchange for this post. I was not influenced in my opinion.
When I was pregnant with Aubrey, well-before, I was addicted to soda. I don’t even know how much I consumed on a daily basis. Water was not my friend. That was almost 3 years ago. Today I enjoy water most of the time, but always have the need for something carbonated from time to time. But I know that soda is SO sugary. I was contacted by Diabolo to try out a sample of their line of beverages – some were energy, some just refreshing drinks. All were carbonated, and all had less sugar than my beloved soda. I said yes! I received a great sampling and it looks like (based on their site) the only one I didn’t receive was the Energizing Diabolo Loco in Acai Berry Guava. So let’s get to it!
I was posting photos on Instagram with each one I tried. I like to make sure I try all the things before I post about them here on my site. The first I tried was the one pictured above – the Blueberry Lemonade. I emailed Diabolo to let them know – IT NEEDS MORE LEMON!! And in a shocking twist, they replied that’s what they hear most often. Hopefully maybe a future batch might have more of that tartness. The bottles are huge, and contain 2 servings. On some of the others, Jon and I split so I’d have a guy’s perspective on the drinks.
The Mint Lemonade was interesting. I was nervous to try it because I’m really not a mint fan, but this subtle flavor was actually really good. We shared it while we cleaned the house. This was more enjoyable than cleaning the house
My favorite, hands down, was this Dragon Fruit Plum beverage. And it was pink!! On their site there’s a recipe for a berry compote using the drink. Mmm Waffles Jon didn’t get to try this one. I drank both servings before he got home from his softball game.
There’s one other variety of Diabolo that has an extra kick. Their Diabolo Loco. Now, because I am breastfeeding, I chose not to sample this one. But Jon was my guinea pig and I think he did a great job. Here’s what he said. He said it was a great taste that didn’t have that lingering taste of other energy drinks. It provided him a great boost to last his game of softball, but wasn’t too much that he was a crazy jittery mess. His games are at night and he felt back to his usual self by time he got home. No crash. Just enough of a pick-me-up.
Now where might you locate Diabolo? You can use this handy search guide. But it is located (at least near me) at Albertsons, Bevmo, some gas stations, and other specialty grocers. I think you should do yourself a favor and pick up the Dragon Fruit Plum mix
