Luke – Growing Up So Fast

This post contains affiliate links Ok so literally a year ago we were shuffling the kids around and preparing for Ryan's arrival.  Luke moved out of the crib and into the same Toddler bed Aubrey used.  Then, for Luke's 3rd birthday, we upgraded his sheet set to one from Paw Patrol and he was a happy camper. So, when we ventured up to Santa Barbara for my mom's birthday celebration, it was his first time sleeping in a twin bed.  I was not prepared and totally thought he'd fall off the bed.  It was taller than his bed, and even taller than what Aubrey was used to.  But, he did amazing and … [Read more...]

Butters’ Adoption Story

Purina Pet Chow - Cat Adoption Story

I have partnered with Purina Cat Chow to participate with the 'Nutrition to Build Better Lives' program. All expressed opinions and experiences are my own words. When I was working on Luke's 3rd birthday post, I had fun going through all the old photos of him throughout his life.  It's funny how you can instantly be transported to that exact moment in which the photo was captured.  It's sort of how you get a bit of nostalgia when those photos and videos come through from years' past.  In almost every reminder of the past years, there are a few photos of Butters.  As the years went on, and we … [Read more...]

Touch A Truck – Santa Clarita Valley

touch a truck santa clarita valley

This past weekend we ventured off to an event I first learned about last year - Touch A Truck.  In Santa Clarita, it benefits our SCV Senior center with the cost of tickets ($5 for any person that can walk - kids included - but dad's are free with paying kids!).  Last year we planned to go, but that morning Luke woke up with a fever that was reaching 100.  No bueno. It opens at 9am and with brutal temps (it was supposed to be over 100 degrees that Saturday) we arrived about 8:45.  We couldn't purchase our tickets but the kids had a chance to play on some gym equipment that is outside … [Read more...]

Crockpot Meatloaf for Warm Summer Nights

crockpot meatloaf - ALDI SoCal Grass Fed Ground Beef

This post was sponsored by ALDI as part of Influencer Activation for Influence Central. Summer is BLAZING HOT in SoCal.  The past 2 summers have been brutal in our home because we have super awesome (sarcasm) windows from 1968 that block absolutely no heat.  During the summer, we cook a lot on our grill and try to use our oven as infrequent as possible.  It also means our counter space has a permanent resident - our crockpot.  When I first bought one, everything always ended up looking the same after the 6 hours of cooking.  But, with amazing things like Pinterest, I'm finding more and more … [Read more...]

ALDI grocery opening in Southern California

This post was sponsored by ALDI as part of Influencer Activation for Influence Central. This post contains affiliate links Grocery shopping for a family of 6 (the 5 of us and my mom) - the bill at the end of the trip can become quickly disturbing.  Since I make our kids' lunches everyday, we also have to have an assortment of snacks and fruits to include in there.  Recently I started making a snack for me to take to work since pumping and breastfeeding really require some good quality calories and protein.  A lot of food comes into this house, and finding creative ways to stretch your buck … [Read more...]

Step up your Pizza & Beer Nights – Best Father’s Day Gift

pizza and beer - fizzics and papa murphys

This is a sponsored post and may contain affiliate links.  I hope you read on and see how awesome this product is!   Since as far back as I can remember,  Friday nights were reserved for the Dells for Pizza and Beer night.  A few times in the first place we lived together, Jon and I did a DIY Pizza bar.  We had tons of toppings, and created whatever we wanted.  Beer always accompanied us.  Whenever we've had friends over for dinner, pizza and beer is an easy crowd pleaser as well.  After my journey to the Mom 2 Summit (Blogger conference that was held in Laguna Niguel in 2016), our pizza and … [Read more...]
