Are We Amusement Park Parents?

We received free admission and had other expenses covered in exchange for this post.  All opinions are mine.   Living in Southern California - we're about 2 hours away from 4 major theme parks.  We've been to 3 of the 4.  After each trip, Jon and I sit around and wonder - are we amusement park parents? It's hard to know. Because of our close proximity, there are a LOT of friends that are always at one of the parks on any given day.  What we see on Facebook & Instagram share the happy moments.  No doubt - there is a lot we don't see.  After a long day in the sun, walking everywhere, kids … [Read more...]

Camping with 10 kids

camping with 10 kids

Earlier in the summer (or, it might have been spring?) some of the families we're friends with mentioned doing a group camping trip in September.  Jon and I were all for it - we've gone camping before with the kids.  Taking 3 kids (one who was crawling) was a bit more of a challenge than last time.  We had our minivan filled to the max and actually had to unpack and repack it a few times to get everything fit.  We brought both of the kids' bikes, plus food, and the most challenging … [Read more...]

Searching For The Ultimate Sippy Cup

search for the ultimate sippy cup -

This post was sponsored by as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central and all opinions expressed in my post are my own. I'm not sure how, but apparently I blinked and Ryan is now almost 11 months old.  He's no longer a tiny, immobile baby that is exclusively breastfed.  Now he's a crawling, babbling, clapping baby who consumes purees, puffs, and teething biscuits.  Just today (as I write this) he's stood twice for 1 second unassisted. STOP RYAN!!  But if I've learned anything from watching Aubrey & Luke grow up - it's inevitable.  I can't stop time, and I … [Read more...]

Raising Responsible Kids – Making Beds

Raising Responsible Kids - Making Beds and #FreeToBe

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #FreeToBe #CollectiveBias This past weekend we ventured out to a local campground with our 3 kids to meet up with 3 other families for a mini vacation.  It was fun, chaotic, and there was so much dirt.  When we were driving back home, Jon talked about how much work it was with all the set up, clean up, tear down and then joked "So, when do the kids get to have jobs?"  Hmmm. Good question.  I shared how my mom's been working with them to teach them to make their beds - and said we should … [Read more...]

Inside the Inkwell Press Planner

inside the inkwell press planner

This post contains affiliate links How I Love My Inkwell Press Planner Oh man. Welcome, fellow planner addicts.  Over the past few years I've shared some of the planners I've used.  Emily Ley's Simplified Planner,  MomAgenda's Home Office Edition, Target & The Day Designer Collaboration, and on YouTube the 365 Happy Planner.  I really might have a problem...but let's focus people! So I bought my Happy Planner last year (i think) on Black Friday while I was up nursing Ryan at like 2am.  I've been using it all year and really liked it.  The one downside was the binding.  But it's ok, … [Read more...]

Trucks, Rocks, Oh My!

stinky and dirty amazon video

The kids and I were invited to the launch party for #StinkyAndDirty courtesy of Amazon Kids and KidzVuz.  Sharing with you my honest opinions, always. This post also contains affiliate links Raise your hand if your kids know how to operate Amazon Video and explore new shows?  About a year ago (or longer!) Luke was searching around and found a pic of a trash truck and a digger. The same episode has been playing in our home over, and over, and over.  I admire the kid for his loyalty and I voted for it to come back through Amazon Studios.  Luke was obsessed with the two main characters - … [Read more...]
