A Minimalistic Nursery

minimalistic nursery

With Baby #3, I just didn't seem to have the resources, or energy, or motivation to really plan an all-out Pinterest worthy nursery.  Part of the reason is due to me not knowing if we're having a boy or a girl.  And while I did decorate Aubrey's nursery in our first condo we owned, I just didn't want to worry about repainting again.  This room has a neutral taupe on the wall that I picked out for Luke so we could add to it as he grew through decor and what not.  But since he's currently bunking in Aubrey's room, and we don't know how the rooms will end up in a few years, I didn't want to do … [Read more...]

Third Time Mom – Diaper Bag Edition

third time mom diaper bag

The baby isn't here yet, but that doesn't mean I don't already know what will be going in my diaper bag.  As a third time mom, I'm really trying to streamline what are the absolute essentials since at times we'll also be carting around 2 other big kids and don't have the luxury of a 20 minute diaper change while you dig around trying to find a diaper that is buried under 5 pounds of toys. This time around, I'll be using the Petunia Pickle Bottom City Carryall (affiliate link for Nordstrom) instead of the Boxy Bag I had for Aubrey and Luke.  A friend of mine had this for her 2nd and she … [Read more...]

36 Week Bumpdate

36 week bumpdate

I'm officially "full-term" despite that 36 not being 40.  The whole timeframe for being pregnant is so odd.  When you find out you're pregnant, you're already like 4 or so weeks along.  The time starts counting as SOON as you finish your last cycle, even though you couldn't have technically gotten pregnant then since a lot has to occur before the little bean is implanted in your uterus. At 36 weeks, if I go into labor, there is no medical intervention done to stop it.  And since this is baby #3, I've really been realizing how much I need to get done asap.  I just started maternity leave and … [Read more...]

How To Create Your Own Nursing Tank

how to create your own nursing tank

Many many moons ago, after I had Aubrey, I realized how some things are just essential while nursing a baby.  At home, I mainly wore pjs and would just lift up my shirt, unhook my bra, and nurse her.  But as we ventured out of the house, I needed a better solution that was easy on the wallet since I didn't know how long I would nurse her.   Let's be real.  Whenever we start the breastfeeding journey with our newborns, we don't know how long it will be.  There are so many things that can come up that halt it early.  Since this was my first, I didn't know what to expect, and had a … [Read more...]

How To Get Your Kids To Sleep Longer…

how to get your kids to sleep longer - blackout curtains

When we purchased this home, we knew it would be our forever home.  We knew that my mom would come live with us, and we knew that the layout was perfect.  Each kid had their own room, and we had pretty decent sleepers.  What we wouldn't realize (due to the time of year we purchased - Fall) was that the larger kid room - Aubrey's - would turn into a sauna during the summer. Each room has big beautiful dual paned windows that let in some great light. Luke's room is located at the back of the home and nuzzled between our bedroom and the living room. His room always stays an even temperature. … [Read more...]

Preschool Search Simplified – CareLuLu

CareLuLu - Preschool Search Simplified

This past weekend I was invited to an intimate brunch to speak with the founders of CareLuLu.  All opinions are mine.    Last month I received an invitation in my email from CareLuLu.  I hadn't heard of them, and set out to good ol' Google to learn more. I was intrigued by what I first saw, and RSVP'd yes.  This past weekend I ventured down to the Roof on Wilshire in Los Angeles to meet the husband & wife team - Jen & Patrick - and learn more about their business. Husband and wife teams are always intriguing.  Have you worked with your spouse before? I have.  You might … [Read more...]
