Real Mom Talk – Missing Out

Missing out - Mom Guilt

A year ago, I was at a blogging conference and purchased my ticket for the following year before I left my hotel.   I realized, at the time, it would be the week leading in to Mother's Day but I was like, oh that's ok. I'll be home for Mother's Day. No Big Deal. Except, I realized, it kind of was. This year I have a lot more travel dates on the calendar with work, blogging, and fun.  It means being away from the kids more - which is totally fine because we have a village to help when Jon or I are away.  But I quickly realized how much Mom Guilt I had with being gone for the Mother's Day … [Read more...]

Pool Dates – Reducing Stress and Increasing Fun

learn to swim day - swimways baby swim raft

This post was sponsored by SwimWays as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central and all opinions expressed in my post are my own. I've been realizing, lately, that our family has been filling up our calendar faster than ever.  I suppose it's due to having 3 kids of different ages and a large extended family.  Some weekends Jon and I are just looking to find some sort of relaxation time but it's super hard to come by.  After a few different babymoons where we anticipate long days with lots of naps - we realized what we crave is quiet pool time.  Whether we've gone to Palm Springs … [Read more...]

13 Reasons Why – – Take Aways As A Parent

13 reasons why - take aways as a parent

I'm a member of the 2017 Netflix #StreamTeam.  I am here to share new information and give my opinion on what I catch as well. Thanks for reading! This post may also contain affiliate links Normally, when new shows come out on Netflix, I take a bit to catch on and watch.  But, with 13 Reasons Why (based on the book by Jay Asher), I finished it within 2 weeks of when it came out.  My co-worker had just finished it and I told her how I was going to load up a new show on my iPad to take on a work trip. She watched it with her teenage daughter and warned me it was great - but very heavy. So, … [Read more...]

Visiting Snow for the First Time

visiting snow for the first time - road trip tools for success

Last month, on a rather last minute decision - we packed up the kids and took a road trip to visit Reno, NV.  Yes, we could have stayed more local and seen snow in SoCal, but we have family & friends in Reno and Jon needed to meet up with some of them for a new project they're working on. Now, traveling with 3 small kids is sort of interesting.  The longest car ride they had was 4 hours to Vegas last summer. I was not about to lose my mind so we decided to split up the drive out to Reno.  Jon and I booked a hotel room just outside of Sacramento and we arrived about 11pm at night on … [Read more...]

Things I Never Thought I’d Worry About

things i never thought i'd worry about

This is a sponsored post. Thank you for taking the time to read and sharing in some of my worries! I remember being newly married, folding laundry on our bed, and joking about how this life I was in felt more like play than reality.  I shared with some friends and I think at that point, I had no idea the worries that would fill my mind as time passed and I got older (or maybe wiser?). I always knew Jon and I would have kids.  But after trying to have our first for what seemed like forever, I then worried that maybe we wouldn't have any. When we had our first - Aubrey - I wondered how I'd … [Read more...]
