That's what you do when you're on vacation, right? right???? One place I stopped a few times was Dunkin Donuts. We don't have any in cali (yet) and I'll admit, I had NO idea what to order when I got to the counter. But I decided on their iced latte and added caramel & cinnamon. All my favorite drinks offer something sweet & spicy so figured this was a good choice. And then I fell in love and the rest is history. walking around Grant … [Read more...]

Farmer Dells – 3rd progress update

It's time for another Farmer Dells update! (read the first here, then our update here). I am really enjoying our garden.  While we have only really had strawberries to enjoy (and some of the herbs), that's about to change!! Our tomatoes have been flourishing and the first two tiny cherry tomatoes have just started to change color!!! Between our 5 plants, I think we'll be eating tomatoes for days. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. I really hope Aubrey's distaste for them goes away soon.  Maybe I can convince her the cherry ones are more like cherries. Even though she hasn't had any … [Read more...]

Hosting Mother’s Day Brunch {for under $50 dollars}

  I took on the task of grabbing our Mother's Day Brunch items from Whole Foods Market for under $50.  I know what you're thinking - impossible!!! OR You're just feeding Jon and you.  No, wrong! We're having it at our house and we're hosting my mom (of course!), my sister, and potentially her boyfriend, along with Aubrey and Luke (who, doesn't really eat food yet. ha ha!).  So that's 4-5 adults and a very hungry toddler.  And I mean that in the most loving way. Luke was my co-pilot as we searched the aisles of Whole Foods to figure out what we should have.  Keeping our budget in … [Read more...]

One Pot Baby Food

Luke has been doing really well with trying purees. You might recall I had been struggling getting him to eat anything beyond puffs. But my persistence paid off, and something flipped, and now he actually enjoys the different purees I've been buying at the store.  But, that gets expensive REAL fast.  So I decided last week to make some more baby food - as his stock of frozen sweet potatoes & Gala apples was almost gone.  So I hit up the store, threw a bunch of veggies in the cart, and left.   I had every intention of making each item separately for him to try out. I mean, … [Read more...]

MOPs Field Trip – Strawberry Picking at Underwood Family Farm

This past week, Aubrey's preschool was on Spring Break.  Her 2 grandmas and I each had her, alone, for a morning to get some special one on one time.  Since she's in preschool 5 days a week, they don't get to see her too often.  And on the weekends, I share the love with her little brother too.  So I noticed on Facebook I received an open invite from a friend for Strawberry Picking with her MOPs group (Mothers of Preschoolers) at Underwood Family Farm in Moorpark, CA.  I asked another friend, Cara, if she and her daughter wanted to join, and the four of us headed out.  It was absolutely … [Read more...]

Homemade BBQ Sauce from Curtis Stone

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Netflix. All opinions are 100% mine. This post contains affiliate links It's not secret to you that we are a Netflix loving household.  I love that we can watch it on our computer (stationed in our room), our living room (via Apple TV or our new Firestick from Amazon) and anywhere on the go (via our iPad and Kindle Fire).  Our watch list is so long between Aubrey's tv shows, our tv shows, and movies for all of us to enjoy.  When I was working on my freezer meals for Luke's impending arrival, you bet your bottom dollar I was catching up … [Read more...]
